by Agnes Walsh
Our fourth broadsheet featured a poem by Agnes Walsh that also appears, in a different form, in Going Around with Bachelors. “Into Town” laments the loss of traditional, rural Newfoundland speech, knowledge and values as embodied in a fine, elderly gentleman. A celebration of friendship as well as a record of a changing way of life, this beautiful poem is testament to Walsh’s vision and her voice.
Printed in 14 pt Fournier on Nieddeggen paper in an edition of 75, signed by the author. The broadsheet featured a letterpress-printed reproduction of an original photo by Agnes Walsh.
