Richard Simas and Caroline Clarke's utterly charming book The Mystery of the Portuguese Waltzes has been included in the spring edition of the Canadian Children's Book Centre's Best Books for Kids & Teens.  And it's no mystery to us why the committee chose to include it. A story of the connections that music forges across generations and between cultures, this early reader is rooted in the traditional music of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the province's historical connections to the Portuguese White Fleet, but is sure to appeal to readers across the country.
