"Tough and tender and utterly unforgettable"

Those are reviewer Jeffrey Canton's words about Jan Andrews' To See the Stars in his inaugural column on children's literature for the Globe and Mail. He also calls the book, "a mesmerizing and compelling coming-of-age story." High praise, but very much deserved. Canton was equally enthusiastic about Andy Jones and Philip Dinn's Peg Bearskin, writing: "Andy Jones and Philip Dinn’s retelling perfectly captures the cadences of the oral story and Denise Gallagher’s illustrations add to the fun, giving life to this rebellious heroine who needs to be known to girls across Canada."
Thanks to Canton for his insightful response to the books. You can read the full reviews here https://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/books/reviews/article-these-seven-kids-books-are-more-than-all-right-for-spring/
