Michael Crummey is one of Newfoundland's most highly regarded poets and novelists. He is the author of seven books of poetry, most recently Passengers (2022), and the short fiction collection Flesh and Blood. His first novel, River Thieves, was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and his second novel, The Wreckage, for the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize. Galore won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize (Canada and the Caribbean) and was a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award. Sweetland was also a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award. The Innocents was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize, and the Governor General's Literary Award. His most recent novel, The Adversary was published to great acclaim in 2023. He lives in St. John's, Newfoundland.
Micheal is author of Chapel Street Torque, a poem-phlet published by Running the Goat in 2002, and a contributing author to Three Servings.
