Sheree Fitch has won almost every major award for Canadian children's literature, including the 1992 Canadian Children's Book Centre Mr. Christie Award for Best Canadian Children's book for There Were Monkeys in My Kitchen and the 2000 Vicky Metcalf Award for a Body of Work Inspirational to Canadian Children. She has over twenty-five books to her credit. Fitch's home base is the East Coast of Canada.
